What is High Trails Outdoor Education Center? High Trails is a terrific program that gives students a sense of Self, a sense of Community, a sense of the Earth, and a sense of Wonder through fun and adventure in the outdoors! Students, their teachers and specially selected high school students come for 3, 4 or 5 day experiential outdoor adventures. The High Trails program is what we call "experiential squared." In traditional outdoor education programs, students have "class" in the outdoors. At High Trails, students actually BECOME the lesson they are to learn. Through role-play, outstanding resource centers, excellent team teaching and a 6,000 acre classroom--High Trails gives students an intellectual, social and emotional learning experience far beyond anything they could have in the classroom.
